I agree that violence begets violence and that the US should've learned that a "war on drugs" not only doesn't work but is lie throwing gasoline on a smolder hoping to put it out, from the experience in colombia. It's time to look for another solution. Legalize drugs? Invest $ in helping people have a livelihood in Mexico and other latin american countries instead of into training them how to kill each other is another idea. I think there is an example of this in Europe when there was a lot of migration from portugal into germany. Instead spending money on enforcement and walls, they invested in bolstering the economy in Portugal. It cost less, was 1000xs more humane, and it worked!
