Here is one of the most powerful descriptions we have read of the social destruction, the "collateral damage," that the war on drugs is wreaking on northern Mexico. It is difficult reading. It does not focus on "body counts" but on the impact on the living and on their communities, which are being destroyed. We will be following Mr. Carroll's next installments.
