Immigration Legislation: Speaker favors amnesty for illegal immigrants

Another sane voice from the hinterlands, this time from north-central Illinois.

Speaker favors amnesty for illegal immigrants: "Illinois Valley Community College students and members of the public packed a meeting room on campus to hear a presentation on immigration reform. The college hosted Chicago-area immigration attorney Sara Dady who gave a presentation to argue in favor of the DREAM Act, against Arizona’s controversial immigration law, and her interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

Dady argued for a “carrot approach” to immigration reform that would change the naturalization process by fast-tracking immigrants into citizenship through increased visa availability, passing amnesty laws and allowing immigrants to apply for work authorization programs during the naturalization process."
