Whack-a-mole: An Exclusive Look Inside Mexico's Drug War: Interview with President Calderon

CBS interviews President Calderon, who continues to insist his "whack-a-mole" strategy is winning the drug war. The article quotes others who think otherwise.

But the most enlightening, and frightening part is when the President tells us that for his war room, he wanted "all the toys," like in the TV program "24." When a TV fantasy of omnipotence is turned into a  reality, that is a delusion.

An Exclusive Look Inside Mexico's Drug War - CBS Evening News: "The president showed us his top-secret, state-of-the-art, $100-million underground bunker - the Central Intelligence Command - in a secret location in Mexico City. Mexican security forces are literally wiring the country with cameras, sensors and computers to gather intelligence on organized crime.

'And when we were designing this, I said, 'Do you remember the program '24,' the TV show? Well, I want all the toys, all that. All the instruments needed to be superior to the criminals,'' Calderon said." Nov. 12, 2010
