Gov. Gary Herbert to sign 4 immigration bills at state Capitol :: The Republic: "A controversial immigration package approved by Utah lawmakers earlier this month will be signed by Gov. Gary Herbert. Herbert will sign four immigration bills at the state Capitol Tuesday morning.
One of the bills requires police to check the immigration status of anyone stopped for a felony or serious misdemeanor. Another bill creates a guest worker program for illegal immigrants in the state.The other bills allow businesses to recruit Mexican workers and American citizens to sponsor foreign residents wanting to work or study in Utah."
