WEAR ABC 3 :: International News: "- A Mexican judge has acquitted the last of nearly three dozen officials arrested in 2009 for supposedly aiding a drug cartel.
The freeing of Mayor Armando Medina Torres marks a major setback for the federal effort to clean up alleged corruption in President Felipe Calderon's home state of Michoacan.
Medina was among 12 mayors and 23 other officials who were arrested on allegations that they had protected the Michoacan-based La Familia cartel.
All 35 officials have now been acquitted."
