Immigration Politics - Colorado: EDITORIAL: Businesses can't be the immigration police for Colorado

EDITORIAL: Businesses can't be the immigration police for Colorado - Aurora Sentinel: Hp Editorials: "State House Republicans turned their backs on owners of small businesses in Colorado this week when they decided to support a bill that would make already struggling entrepreneurs de facto immigration police.

In their zeal to take the nation’s immigration reform problems into their own hands, state Capitol Republicans have insisted this year to create legislation like that passed last year in Arizona. It was a calamity making that state a national pariah for many opting away from Arizona vacations and conferences. Despite the racist nature of the offensive law — immediately stopped in its tracks by federal courts — the real problem is Arizona lawmakers pushing an impossible illegal immigration solution onto the backs of local communities.

For all the wrong reasons, Colorado state House Republicans are on the same bent."
