Immigration Crackdown: Federal court to expedite Alabama immigration law appeal

The Montgomery Advertiser: "The fight over Alabama's immigration law moved to a new venue Friday as a federal appeals court agreed to expedite an appeal for an injunction blocking the statute until a lower court can decide if it is constitutional.

Earlier in the day, the U.S. Justice Department and a coalition of plaintiffs represented by the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the National Immigration Law Center asked the court to quickly hear their appeal that the law be blocked. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals set oral arguments in the case for no earlier than Nov. 29."
