Drug War Bloodshed: A land of sorghum, mass graves and fear

A very human look at the town of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico, where so many murdered have recently been found.

A land of sorghum, mass graves and fear - San Antonio Express-News: "SAN FERNANDO, Mexico — This community, whose pits full of corpses have become emblematic of the barbarity of the drug war, wants its soul back.

“It's human nature to categorize us by the tragedy, the bloodshed, the violence that has been suffered here,” said Tomás Gloria Requena, mayor of this pastoral town of 57,000. “I don't think it's something we can try to erase. It's marked in the hearts of San Fernando.”"
