Drug War Bloodshed: New murder record in Mexico: More than 1,400 in April

New murder record in Mexico: More than 1,400 in April - BostonHerald.com: "The drug-war death toll for Mexico in April was 1,400, the highest of any month since the Mexican government began its war on illicit drug trade four years ago.

The previous high was 1,322 in August 2010, the daily newspaper Milenio reported Sunday.

Most of the murders in April occurred in northern Mexico, reflecting the trend of recent months as drug cartels battle each other over drug and migrant routes."
